After completing his secondary and high school education at Istanbul Erkek Lisesi, he graduated from Boğaziçi University, Faculty of Administrative Sciences, Department of Accounting and Finance. He worked as a banking expert, auditor, financial affairs manager, and consultant in Turkish, British, German and American companies.
Following his international banking experience at Yapı Kredi Bank, he worked as an auditor at PriceWaterhouse Coopers, and as an internal auditor at Sabancı Holding. At executive management positions, he was a financial controller and at German Wella and American Tenneco, two multinational companies in cosmetics and automotive branches.
Varol emigrated to Canada with his family in 2005. After gaining Canadian experience in financial and accounting positions, he moved to an entrepreneurial role. Since 2011, he has been working in the hospitality business, as a guide, executive manager, and partner of Academy Travels. Varol is also education consultant of Nova Scola, a company that recruits students from Türkiye for different levels of education in Canada.
As a “professional hobby” Varol has been writing about and testing automobiles for more than a decade at his blog, AutoAndRoad.com. He is a columnist of TAYSAD (Turkish Automotive Parts Industry Association) magazine since 2014.
He has been contributing to the community projects of Canadian Turks for nearly a decade. He volunteered as a board member and later as chairman of Ankara Kitaplığı (Ankara Library of Toronto). He is one of the founders of TEPAC and is on the floor as a board member.
Besides his native language Turkish, Karslıoğlu speaks English and German.
